Why tracking saves you messages
Once an order ships, buyers start to wonder where it is. Without a tracking number, they write to ask, and you search your notes for the receipt. With one, they check it themselves. A few seconds spent entering the number saves a conversation per order.
Step by step
- Pack the order and get the tracking number from the carrier.
- Open the order in the shop dashboard.
- Enter the carrier name and the tracking number.
- Change the order status to shipped.
The buyer receives a message in Telegram that the order is on its way, with the carrier and number. They can also open the order in the bot later and find the same details under it.
Write the carrier name the way buyers know it
Use the name printed on the carrier's own site, not an internal shortcut. A buyer copying the tracking number needs to know which site to paste it into. If you ship with more than one carrier, this matters even more.
Keep statuses honest
Mark an order as shipped when the parcel has actually left, not when it is packed. A tracking number that shows nothing for two days creates more questions than no number at all. If a delay happens, write to the buyer in the same chat before they write to you.
See which orders were paid online
The orders list shows which orders were paid online, so you can tell at a glance which ones are ready to ship and which are still waiting for payment agreed in chat. Ship the paid ones first and keep a short note on the rest. When the month ends, you can export the orders as a CSV file for your records.
