What an ecommerce bot is
An ecommerce bot is a Telegram bot whose job is selling rather than talking. The earliest ones listed products as messages with buttons underneath. That works, and it gets tiring after about six items.
What changed is the Mini App: a page that opens inside Telegram when the buyer taps a button in your bot. The bot is still the door, but behind it is a storefront with a grid of products, categories, search and a cart.
What the buyer sees
They open your bot the way they open any chat. One tap on the shop button and the catalogue slides up over the conversation. They browse, add items, change quantities, and confirm. Nothing is installed, no account is created, and no password is invented.
That matters more than it sounds. Most orders are lost at the jump to an outside site, and here there is no jump.
What the seller gets
You get the order in your dashboard with the items, the quantities, and the buyer's Telegram handle, so you can answer them in the same thread they ordered from. Orders are seller-fulfilled by default: you pack and ship the way you already do.
You can add a carrier and tracking number to an order, and the buyer gets it in Telegram with the message saying it is on its way.
Bot replies or a Mini App storefront
A reply-based bot is fine for a short, fixed list: three subscriptions, five digital files. It is quick to set up and it never looks like much.
A Mini App storefront earns its keep once you have photos, categories, variants, or more than a handful of products. Our Telegram Mini App store is the second kind, built from content blocks with a theme engine for palette, fonts and layout.
What you need before you start
A bot token from Telegram, a list of products with prices and one clear photo each, and a decision about delivery. That is the whole list. If you want the first version faster, the AI shop builder takes one sentence describing your shop and fills a layout with a design, copy and example products in about a minute, which you then edit.
